Do I need to back up my spreadsheets before using Changes N Trends? You do not need to back up your spreadsheets. Changes N Trends only reads the data from the spreadsheets you ask it to analyze. The original sheets are not changed. Back to TopWill Changes N Trends be able to detect changes in formulas in the spreadsheets? No. Changes N Trends is not a spreadsheet-auditing tool. It only compares the values of the data in the spreadsheet. For example, if one version of the spreadsheet contained the formula "2+2" and the other version contained the value "4", Changes N Trends would report no difference, because both have the same data value (4). Back to TopWhat happens if I submit more than 10 versions of a spreadsheet to Changes N Trends? The Personal Edition will need to delete the oldest version of a spreadsheet if you have reached the limit of 10 versions. This provides space for the new version. Thus, your trend charts will contain the data from the last 10 versions that were submitted. Back to TopIf I edit a spreadsheet version after submitting it to Changes N Trends, will it report a change? No, the changes will not be reflected. Changes N Trends takes a "snapshot" of the spreadsheet when it is submitted, and saves that image in its repository. This allows the program to report differences between the original and the changed versions of the spreadsheet. Back to TopWhat are the key differences between Changes N Trends and other software that report differences between spreadsheet versions?Changes N Trends is the only software that consolidates the data of multiple versions into a repository. This allows it to create trend reports, in addition to "difference reports" that other "spreadsheet comparison utilities" generate. Back to TopWhen does the trial version expire, and what will happen to my data when it expires? The trial version expires at the earlier of 2 events: 30 days have elapsed since installation, or 30 spreadsheet versions have been submitted to the program. At the end of that period, you will need to purchase a full version, in order to preserve the "snapshots" of the spreadsheets in the repository. If you choose not to purchase the full version, your license requires you to uninstall the program, at the end of which the repository and all its data will be deleted from your computer. Back to Top
